Higher tides over the next few years
Something to be aware of for upcoming expeditions, especially those on or near the oceans, is the higher tides we will be experiencing due to the Major Lunar Standstill effect from the Moon’s 18.6 year cycle which reaches its peak effect in 2024.
We will be monitoring expeditions planned closely to ensure all safety precautions are taken and that expedition leaders are well aware of the potential risks involved.
