Chapter Head

UK Chapter: London

Chair and President: Lord Malcolm Pearson (10th Baron of Abington)

London chapter is the home and founding location of the Society and also serves as the global headquarters. The Society council and senior officers preside in London. The chapter operates year round hosting up to 4 new expeditions a year, and several seasonal adventures and excursions. Membership is by majority vote of chapter fellows and candidates must be presented and sponsored by an existing fellow.

AU Chapter: Brisbane

Chapter head: Sir Bruce Saunders (KBE)

Located in Brisbane, Australia and operates year round hosting up to 2 new expeditions a year and regular and seasonal exploration trips. Membership is by majority vote of chapter fellows and candidates must be presented and sponsored by an existing fellow. Expedition Leadership courses offered.

US Chapter: Houston

Chapter head: Sir Michael Carman (HKBE)

Located in Houston, Texas and operates year round hosting up to 3 new expeditions a year, and several seasonal adventures and excursions. Membership is by majority vote of chapter fellows and candidates must be presented and sponsored by an existing fellow. Expedition Leader courses to be offered soon.

ZA Chapter: Cape Town

Chapter head: Arno Forster (OMBS)

Located in Cape Town, South Africa and operating  semi-annually offering one to two new expeditions and several smaller adventure packages. Membership is by majority vote of chapter fellows and candidates must be presented and sponsored by an existing fellow.

CL Chapter: Santiago

Chapter head: Sir Arturo Carrera (HKBE)

Located in Santiago, Chile and operating semi-annually offering 1 major expedition a year and several seasonal adventure packages. Membership is by majority vote of chapter fellows and candidates must be presented and sponsored by an existing fellow.
